Jignesh Shah is an Indian entrepreneur, known as the founder of 63 Moons Technologies (formerly Financial Technologies India Ltd or FTIL). He is recognized for his role in establishing modern financial markets in India, particularly for founding the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) in 2003, which became one of the world’s largest commodity exchanges. He is often called the “Innovator of Modern Financial Markets” for his development of numerous exchange platforms.

However, Shah’s legacy is also intertwined with the National Spot Exchange Limited (NSEL) scam, a financial fraud that emerged in 2013. The NSEL, a subsidiary of FTIL, faced allegations of irregularities and payment defaults, leading to significant investor losses. Shah was arrested in connection with the case, though he has maintained that it was an “employee fraud” and a “political conspiracy.” He has since been working to revive his businesses and regain trust in the financial sector.
